We are getting married on 15th May this year and our venue (Hotel) is saying they don't have official clarification as to whether we can have a reception (it would just be a sit down meal for the 15 of us) or whether we can just have the ceremony.
Is anyone else who is getting married before the 17th May in this situation?
Has there been any definite official clarification?

We are due to get married on 24th April (4th date) but it now looks like the Government had intended that weddings can only go ahead in venues that were already allowed to open (eg churches, public buildings)

This means that other licensed venues still aren't allowed to open until 17th May to host weddings.

The weddings task force put out a statement today, they are meeting with the Government tomorrow so hopefully there should be some clarity at the end of the week

🤞 for both of us, and the other 7,000 weddings that may be affected
