What do you think are the chances of a ‘normal’ wedding going ahead towards the end of July this year in England?

At the moment the guest list is about 100 people Confused

Ask Mystic Meg, not us :)

icebubbles · 05/01/2021 21:51

O, sadly. Maybe low tens but no chance of 100

IggyAce · 05/01/2021 21:53

Plan for 15 hope for 30, you might get lucky and be allowed 50.

BackforGood · 05/01/2021 21:56

Very low, for 100 people, together for several hours.

LawnFever · 05/01/2021 21:57

I wouldn’t be planning for 100, maybe 30 max, maybe ceremony only and no reception or fewer for a reception

TheRaccoon · 05/01/2021 22:00

@OJCJM I wish she made herself more available!

This is for a wedding that I’m supposed to be attending - DH is convinced it won’t go ahead, up until a few weeks ago I was feeling very confident that it would but that confidence has fallen off a cliff recently!

I'm getting married in August & planning for 59 best case.

DrCindyPops · 05/01/2021 22:02

50 not 59 that's a random number Grin

We are getting married in June and our guest list is 18 which might end up being 15. We always wanted something tiny and simple so even without Covid our guest list never would have exceeded 20 anyway! 100 no chance.

TheRaccoon · 05/01/2021 22:15

@DrCindyPops I was thinking that was very specific!

We've postponed our wedding twice now...new date it's Aug 2021 for 90 people. If I'm honest, we've got no chance, despite the vaccine who knows if they will allow big/mass gatherings. We've decided we will get married anyway and just keep it small.

There is absolutely no way a 'normal' wedding will take place for at least another year and even then we'll probably have to wear masks and perhaps social distance.
Unfortunately we are in a terrible pandemic and even with a vaccine this won't actually really make any positive impact until 2022.

We've postponed 3 times and now going to cancel until we can have the wedding we want.
We are guessing 2023 onwards
