I was due to get married last December and eight weeks before we were due to marry my fiancé was diagnosed with lymphoma and start gruelling chemo. Initially he was determined we would still get married, but the closer the date got the clearer it became that he was too unwell so we postponed - all of our suppliers were amazing.
Just as we began to feel like we might be able to set another date Covid hit. This also meant his planned surgery was put on hold and in July he started more chemo to get the cancer back to where it was prior to lockdown.
We have now rebooked for late January.
Here is my dilemma we intend this to be a marriage to get the legal bit done, because of his illness. We will have our wedding later and then I will wear the beautiful dress I had made.
Whilst I love the dress it was designed and made thinking of a wedding just before Christmas fairy lights, candles and sparkle. It's long and has lots of sequins giving a subtle sparkle. Not really right for lunch time in January.
But I don't to just rock up in my jeans our photographer is coming to just take a few photos to log the legal bit ( he's a friend) so I want to look nice. Just nothing in my wardrobe is suitable.
I thought about buying a high street dress, but I really feel the cold, the registry office is a draughty Tudor Manor House and they all have no sleeves.
I am size 12-14 middle aged short lady who feels the cold ( did I mention that). Any suggestions gratefully received.
