Pub reception venue

Looking to start planning our wedding for next autumn, we ideally want to have a registry office ceremony then into a pub for a reception. We're trying to keep it small, so we're aiming for around 35 guests. We live just outside London, as do the majority of our guests so we'd like to keep it within the central London area. Anyone had a pub reception in London and have any suggestions or recommendations?

The Camberwell Arms, right by Southwark registry office (might not be as central as you're looking for, but it's lovely and does a lot of receptions).

@CarrotCakeSupprise this is exactly the sort of vibe we're hoping for! Any idea what sort of price range this is?

The Old Ship, Hammersmith - overlooks the river and you can book the upstairs. There's other riverside pubs that would fit 35-40 people.

I'm not sure about their party menus, but lunch is £40/ head ish.

Oddly I know the Old Ship well too, and it's a very good shout!

@ShakeaHettyFeather this looks beautiful too, love the view. It looks like it's pretty close to Hammersmith registry office too, which is perfect!

A lot of the pubs in the City of London close over the weekend when offices are closed, but would open for a function, so worth looking at.

I went to a great wedding reception in a pub near St Paul's a few years ago. Will try and remember where exactly.......!

Ooh, watching with interest. Keen to know if there are any good spots near Marylebone registry!
