I live in Cumbria. When you say lake do you mean Ullswater as that will be your nearest ?
If you want a registry office, again the nearest will be Penrith. It is down a nice alley and near a church but in the same building as the library ( halfway up the stairs )
There are not lots of registry offices in Cumbria. I think Penrith , Carlisle, Whitehaven and Barrow .
Happy to answer any further questions.

Inn on the lake at Glenridding is a short drive from Penrith, is licensed for weddings and in a fantastic setting. Boats also launch from Glenridding so could combine everything in one place-wedding, food and boat!

My sister is getting married at Cote How near Rydal. They specialise in small weddings. We are having afternoon tea afterwards

I went to a wedding at the inn on the lake. It was lovely. Loads of local B&Bs for guests to stay in. The couple got married in the garden by the lake. It was stunning. I can imagine it cost a fortune though.

For just eight of you, could you hire a couple of classic camper vans? These are pretty, and based fairly nearby:

Prob will book the registry office but they only do weddings after 3pm in the week

I know some people that booked some sort of holiday home on the edge of the Lake and all the guests stayed there with them for 3 or so nights. Married at Penrith and had a chef come to them to make the meals for the whole day.

angeace22 · 21/10/2020 14:52

Wow that sounds amazing
Would u happen to have anymore details of where they stayed and chef etc pls
