The rule of 15 for weddings.... are we allowed to have 15 people for a celebrant ceremony at a golf club followed by a sit down meal for those 15 guests?

We have booked the "legal" statutory bit at our local registry for the week before (not allowed our children there though due to restrictions hence the celebrant ceremony) where we will literally just go though the legal part of getting married.

Am I right in thinking the golf club bit will still be allowed under the "15 guests to a wedding" act even though technically it's not the legal ceremony part?!

Just to add, it will just be the two of us and 2 random witnesses for our legal part as we want family and the kids to think it's all done properly at the golf club if that makes sense!

I thought it was 15 only for the legal ceremony bit.

6 people for the dinner.

I'm pretty sure in a "Covid secure" venue you are allowed 15 people for a wedding reception... im just confused as to whether ours would count as such seeing as the legal part is taking place on a different day?

Yes, as far as I understand weddings are exempt from the rule of 6 so it would be 15 for the ceremony and the meal afterwards.

Just in case you're in Scotland... we're allowed 20 here for both ceremony and reception (in a covid safe place ie hotel/ restaurant)
