Jan 2021 Wedding

My wedding is booked for late January 2021 - the venue has offered to move the date but I don’t know if this is the best idea or to wait it out and see if it will be ok to go ahead? Is anyone else getting married in January? Not sure what to do

Move it unless you are happy to comply with the current restrictions

How long are they happy to wait, do you need to make a decision now? How many guests are you inviting?

They have said we can wait until the end of the year to see, but id like to make a decision soon so that I know what’s happening with it. 40 day guests and 100 all together in evening.

I can't see 100 people being allowed by January so I would rearrange.

We moved from June 20 to January 21, looks like we'll be cancelling altogether or moving again (although venue is being awkward about that)

If they are offering for you to move, move it. They think it won't be allowed to happen, which sucks.

@gurglebelly that’s a shame you’ll possibly have to move for a 2nd time.. doesn’t help with venues being awkward!

We've just heard from our venue, Boris cutting down to 15 has made the venue much more supportive - they've given us the option of going ahead with a small private ceremony on our current date AND allowing us to move the reception to our first anniversary. It's such a relief!!

@gurglebelly Oh that is a positive then, sounds like a great plan. Since the 15 rule came in we have postponed the full thing until later in the year.
