Due to Covid we've had to change all our plans much like everyone else and have booked a statutory wedding ceremony at our local registry office in Jan 21 just so we can actually tie the knot.
We are only allowed x2 witnesses over the age of 18.
We really want our children to be involved as they were sooo excited about our previous plans but obviously they won't be able to attend the statutory ceremony now.

Weve got a celebrant on standby for the same day so we can quickly do the legal bit at the registry and then have a celebrant ceremony with the kids plus our parents BUT I have no idea where to host this "celebrant" part?
I mean do we just rock up in the local pub and ask if she can do a quick 10 min ceremony before a celebratory lunch?!
It's not like we can do it in the garden in Jan either!

Ideas hugely welcome Smile

I'd say pick a place that's meaningful to you both, it doesn't have to be a long ceremony and if it's outdoors you just need to remind your guests to be prepared for that!

We're going for an outdoor ceremony in October (in Scotland!) and we're providing blankets and hand warmers, and we've suggested that people take coats and scarves.

We've also got a plan B (feels like we're on about plan M or N by now) if the weather is dreadful but that may mean that some of our guests can't be at the actual ceremony.

Good luck with your planning!
