Well as my username implies at one point we were supposed to be heading off to NYC and eloping in October this year....we were getting married at Brooklyn Bridge park and then spending the day (in our wedding gear) travelling all over Manhattan for some pics and the odd drink in a bar - followed by a nice dinner somewhere. I’m usually such an optimist that even in June I was still thinking we had a chance. A few weeks ago even I admitted there was absolutely no chance and so we had a chat and decided that we still wanted to get married in October this year....so....we have almost exactly the same plan but London instead of NYC (we will go to NYC hopefully next year for a belated honeymoon). Everything is now organised, dress fitting is in a few days and I am just keeping my fingers crossed that nothing gets in the way of this new plan. We have found a fab photographer and I am looking forward to this as much as I was our original plans. We plan on having a party for friends and family which was going to be a few weeks after we get back but we will need to push that back (hopefully we will be able to do it in the Spring). I know its much easier for us as we were eloping anyway but just wanted to share a positive story. Well, maybe I shouldn’t tempt fate....Please keep your fingers crossed for us!

That sounds lovely! Have a fabulous day.

We are just unpicking our original plans for 35 guests in October, we're going to have our ceremony outdoors and will have 6 or 16 people for a meal afterwards depending on the rules at the time. Like you I'm now very excited about the new plan and just grateful that we can stick to our date Smile

We managed to get married in August with 30 people. Good luck! It was a lovely day if hard emotionally to deal with the disappointment of not having elements we had planned. Try to ensure you get lots of time just the two of you and enjoy it :)

Thank you. I’m now finally letting myself believe it’s going to happen and I’m so excited. I’m glad you had a lovely day 😊
