Intimate wedding venues for 10 people

SLN01 · 16/07/2020 15:19

I'm newly engaged and now looking for ideas of places to get married for a small intimate wedding of only 10 people in the UK. Ideally I would like to be able to have the ceremony, wedding breakfast and to stay in the same venue. Does anyone know of any venues or been to a very small wedding held somewhere that you would recommend?

Glen-Yr-Afron Hotel might be worth a look. They have a package specifically for small weddings and you could have the wedding breakfast there too.

congratulations on your engagement!

Leeds Castle (in Kent)

Tunnels beach

This would be a fabulous place to get married

If you fancy a posh pub in Kent google The Bull tiny wedding. Lovely small venue but I've no personal experience of the place.

We honestly don't mind on the area but we are based just outside of Brighton. Our search is more about finding somewhere for such a small group without us looking lost in big rooms. Thank you for the recommendations so far, I'll go and have a look at those.

Blanch house

Just put in a search for ‘Brighton Small weddings’ and came up with Blanch House. Got no idea what it’s like though.

My sister is getting married at Cote How in Rydal, Cumbria. She's having afternoon tea afterwards.

Berwick lodge in Bristol is beautiful and can be very intimate. They’ve got the most stunning lounge area where they serve afternoon tea or Other food. Would have enough rooms for all your guests to stay there if they wish and it’s quite near the motorway... without having the Motorway noise!

How about renting a really lovely house somewhere, having a private chef and waiter to cook/serve etc. You would have to have the actual ceremony somewhere else but a lovely country house would be nicer than a big room in a hotel somewhere. You could make a lovely weekend of it.

Langar Hall, Nottinghamshire

I got married there with 10 people. Had the ceremony there in the afternoon, then wedding breakfast in a private dining room, then everyone stayed overnight. Lovely food and staff.

@BrieAndChilli

I love this idea

Saltcote place in Rye could be an option, we’re having our very small wedding there.

I love the look of a small wedding at stourhead gardens temple of Apollo. It's a national trust place but I gather you can hire the temple-beautiful setting

House on the Brooks near Amberley is lovely.
Amberley Castle
Blanche House, Brighton
Angel House, Hove

We should be getting married this weekend but had to postpone til next year.

We've hired a barn with rooms in the Cotswolds for 23 people, and we're having a weekend wedding with everyone staying.

Having it catered all weekend and providing our own drinks, games, music, flowers etc. And we're getting the legal bit done (should have been today!) earlier in the week, and a humanist ceremony at the barn (should've been this coming Saturday!)

If you really don't mind travel the lodge on Loch Goil is beautiful.

We got married here but had a big wedding in the main room. It’s lovely.
