Groomswoman stories please

So my best friend (male) is getting married in a year or so, and has asked me to be a groomswoman (I think that's what we're calling it lol).
Please tell me about when you've seen this and what they wore??
I'm the only female one in the grooms party (and all the bridesmaids are women too). I'm not particularly keen on wearing a suit but only really because I don't think I'll look that good in it, but will if they want me too.
I was thinking maybe I could have a similar dress to the bridesmaids but in the same colour as the groomsmen?
p.s. I know it's not my wedding and I'll wear whatever they want, but they're ridiculously laid-back and asked for my opinion!

I’ve just googled female groomsman suit, female groomsman attire, female groomsman outfit & quite a few pictures come up so you could have a look for inspiration but they seem v masculine still to me.

Maybe find a dress in the colour of the grooms tie or button hole with a jacket for Day that you take off for the meal/evening?

My husbands Best Ma’am wore the same dress as the bridesmaids but in navy to match his suit. She had a corsage instead of a bouquet.

My husband had a "best woman" and she wore a bridesmaid style dress in the same dark blue as his suit, which looked fab!

DH's wore a nice dress and jacketwhich is what she would have worn as a "normal" guest. We didn't have loads of coordinating outfits though, just two bridesmaids whose dress colour matched my flowers.
I think a nice wedding guest dress in maybe the same colour as grooms suit?

So we are getting married 09.2021 and I will have MoH + 4 bridesmaids and a flower girl
OH will have Best Woman, 3 groomsmen and 2 Groomswomen

We are an older couple in our 50's and our adult children wanted to be part of the wedding hence the Groomswomen
Wedding colours are Red Green and Gold from Fiancés Regimental Colours

Bride Ivory 50's wedding dress
The Bridesmaids and MoH are all wearing
Black knee length dresses

Groom wearing Regimental Blazer ( Black ) and charcoal grey trousers ( Veteran)
Best woman Forest Green Dress
Groomsmen will be in Charcoal Grey Suits
Groomswomen Dove Grey Dresses

This way all the colours and styles will be part of the wedding colour palette

I tried very hard to get a similarity between the outfits so the flowed but were different if that makes sense. Talk to the Bride about what she would like to see
