So weddings can go ahead with 30 guests. Do you think that will continue to go up? October wedding here with 100 guests and everything crossed!

That’s a tough one. You need a crystal ball OP. Glitterball

Generally, things are starting to open up and there’s a plan for schools to be fully open BUT....

there’s already instances in other countries of reverting back to lockdown in areas where there’s been a surge of fresh cases. October’s too far ahead to predict with any degree of accuracy, just like the weather.

@GrandAltogetherSo

The guessing is the worst! I’d hate to postpone now and it be OK in October ... but how long do you leave it for?

We postponed our October wedding last month - the anxiety of not knowing whether it was going ahead or not was too much, and having a plan B eased so much stress. It was surprisingly easy to move forward as well, each one of our suppliers are available the same date next year. We're in Wales however, where things are moving a lot more cautiously. If I were in England I would be a bit more optimistic now that it would be likely to proceed. It depends on whether or not there will be a second wave and unfortunately that is something that is difficult to predict at this stage.

I’m not really the one to advise as I’m more interested in the marriage than a big ‘do’ as we got married in a registry office with no fuss and 10 guests (family) as DH was about to start Chemo. We really only invited the guests in order to tell them in one go about the diagnosis and chemo. (7 years ago and he’s doing well)

If you have your heart set on a fancy wedding with all that entails, then maybe postpone it until sometime late next year? Otherwise, you’re still going to be anxious right up until the date as lots of people are predicting a second wave of Covid in the Autumn to coincide with the normal colds & flu season.

Even if you are allowed to hold the wedding, will all your guests still attend or do you think that some will cancel at the last minute?

With 100 guests I would not be optimistic about an October wedding.
