Any positive/ noteworthy summer 2020 wedding news?!

Hey all,

Not about my day - my beautiful sis & her partner's wedding was/is due to take place at the beginning of August this year.

The venue are quite positive it could still go ahead, just waiting to hear positive news from the government / the registrar. Apparently they still have 2x July weddings who haven't cancelled too, as they believe ceremony might be able to go ahead. Sis is happy to wait it out as long as possible before cancelling with venue, as they'll only lose the deposit.

Has anyone had any positive news for their summer planned weddings? We are sitting here Googling and trying to weigh up the chances of it really going ahead or not...

I keep looking in the news - but it seems there's been no real concrete developments on mass gatherings/ wedding ceremonies yet.

So, are we missing anything new and important? I'm hoping someone, somewhere has some happy news to report?! 

Forgot to add - if it can go ahead, it will obviously be scaled back and with social distancing in place. They just want to be able to get married that on that day, if they can.

Weddings are back on in Northen Ireland with a maximum of 10 guests so I would be pretty hopeful in her position.

We are meant to get married in Sept,and have held out hoping we’d be able to do a small ceremony but I think it’s time to make the call that it won’t happen in the way we want it to. A socially distanced wedding is not necessarily something I’d want to remember...everyone is different but for us it didn’t seem like what we’d hoped for

I really don’t feel confident about an early August wedding. I reckon late September wedding which are scaled right back could probably go ahead.

We've postponed from September and I know another couple who have postponed from September. Their venue said they could have 20 guests, but no catering, no entertainment, no DJ, dancefloor etc.
If they're happy for the legal marriage, then it's a possibility although the registrars in my area have automatically rearranged all bookings up to 31st August.
