So I got married in October and my dress got absolutely disgusting. The train and the bottom was completely black. I got a few quotes for a dry cleaners but they were wanting around £150/£200. So I took it upon myself today to clean it myself and wow I cannot believe the outcome. My dress is completely embellished from too to bottom.

I brought vanish stain remover - powder which I went over the bad patches first with a sponge. Then I soaked it in warm water for 2 hours adding a LOT of stain remover to the bath, a squirt of fairy liquid & a splash of laundry detergent. I then emptied the bath for the next round with clean warm water adding the same ingredient - 1st time I emptied the bath it was BLACK I couldn't believe it. 2nd time round I used the sponge on the same area. And soaked for a 3rd time.

I've now taken the dress out the bath rinsed it and is hanging on an airer to dry.

I CANNOT BELIEVE THE OUTCOME it generally looks brand new!!
I was so scared due to all the embellishments but it generally is so clean.

Don't knock till you try it.

I am not selling my dress as I want to turn it in to a christening gown, so it was my own risk. Maybe if you are selling make sure you take the right steps!
