How much did you pay for your photographer and band?

Just that basically Smile

Our band is £2160. That’s for 2 hours live playing, a live DJ in between sets up until midnight and 90mins piano during dinner. The basic package was around £1350 which didn’t include the piano or the live DJ and only 1hr 20mins live music. The photographer is £1950, not including an album or a pre wedding shoot. He’s pricey but fabulous!

£1200ish for a great photographer from getting ready to about 8.30am and £1000 for an excellent ceilidh band who played a playlist we picked after on their audio equipment.

Cyberve · 30/01/2020 21:06

I've been quoted £1200 for a band for 4 hours at night. And then £1500 for a photographer but that includes a wedding album. That's seeming not too bad then based on the prices you have given.

Our photographer didn’t include an album (and also I meant 8.30pm oops) so sounds roughly in line to me!

Elbels · 31/01/2020 21:43

2000 including a pre wedding shoot, an album and all day coverage including getting ready.

We haven't found a band yet which scares me

onanothertrain · 01/02/2020 09:13

Photographer 950 for a 1/2 day package not including an album and the band is 1350 to play from 8pm-1am

delilahbucket · 01/02/2020 20:11

£700 for photographer for all day to first dance and photos on USB. Can't afford a band, a couple of thousand is pretty normal. I sing in a choir and they are singing instead.

StrongInside · 02/02/2020 08:33

Not having a band or DJ. Our photographer is £400 for 5 hours, which is plenty for us, we weren’t looking for someone to be photographing our every move the whole day. Otherwise, £800 for the whole day.

GaaaaarlicBread · 02/02/2020 08:40

We paid £900 for our professional photographer as he’s a long term friend too so gave us a bit of a deal (photo album etc) , and we had a DJ not a band so probably no help to you but in case you’re wondering , they were £300 and we had our initials and these big letters spelling Love that lit up on the dance floor . X

Our photographer was around £500 for a half day - guests arriving, the ceromony, the champagne and canapés bit and the speeches before the meal. Images on a disc. I think this would have actually been something I regretted not having them there for longer, however unbeknownst to us one of our guests was a keen amateur photographer and took some fab pictures later in the day.

Band was £750, DJ was £200. Both we had seen before and played the 'right' sort of music for us.

Didntwanttochangemyname · 04/02/2020 20:18

£4800 for band, but they are really good and also really important to us.
Photographer is £950 from midday until about 10pm.
Good luck with it!

Bathwater · 21/02/2020 21:38

Photographer we paid 2200 she travelled to the other end of the country for us and included digital photos and £50 print allowance. She is world renowned photographer now and we got her for an absolute steal.
Band played 4 hours total, 3 guys included travel from 3 hours away and were £1500. We did look at another that was £3000 (6 guys) but we decided we wanted to save the money.

MissRabbitNeedsAHoliday · 22/02/2020 21:00

I'm paying £900 for my photographer, no album & have used her a few times previously so getting a good deal.
I haven't decided on a band yet, but the quotes are coming in about the same as you Smile

heresince2020 · 05/04/2020 10:16

I paid £800 for the photographer for half day. He covered from 30 mins before ceremony to just after the first dance. He had been doing weddings for a couple of years and didn’t have a massive portfolio so was a bit cheaper than the ones some venues recommended.

We booked a 3 piece ceilidh band for the start of the evening, one of which then stayed until midnight to look after our own playlist of music for the evening. That cost £700.

Momniscient · 06/04/2020 15:22

Ceilidh band - £630 for three hours
Photographer - £795 for five hours on the day and an included engagement shoot

If you're worried about budget (my assumption from the question and concern about value for money!) then maybe shop around more and search without the word "wedding". For example, our band does all events and aren't listed on wedding websites. We found them through ms-music.co.uk and our photographer we met at a wedding fair so no joy there, but there is a huge range of prices out there.
