Planning small reception in Autumn, need suggestions!

DP and I are planning a civil partnership later this year. It will be just us for that part as we both hate fuss and attention, so first question is, do you have to supply your own witnesses or can registry office sort that for you?

Reception would be about 30 people including us, plus one 4 year old (nephew). Plenty of good food and booze, possibly a buffet, no DJ or dancing, background music from our own playlist. We live in East London - any suggestions of venues? Thanks

I think you have to supply your own witnesses (I know people who have contacted their local church to ask for 2 members of the congregation to fulfil the role, or asked neighbours)

barge east might be suitable for the reception?

Thanks for the witnesses info. Barge East looks great but wouldn't be suitable for mobility impaired, meat and two veg eating MIL sadly!

ah ok, the owl and pussycat might be more suitable? it serves more traditional food

That looks much better, thanks. Have you eaten there?
