Wedding Dress Help!

I am getting married abroad on the beach in Sri Lanka, April 2021 (I know I still have some time but would like to be organised and give myself a good amount of time to look around)!

I have started to look at dresses and I have found two different ones which I really like and I will be making the trip down to London to try them both on (I will link them at the bottom).

I just wanted some input from others to different brands/shops to look for or even dresses!

I am looking for a very simple dress, something timeless and beautiful. (I have been married before, so I have had the huge expensive dress) I would like to keep the budget to around £1000 and I am happy for it to be white, ivory, pale pink, champagne or something light. I am a size 6 and around 5'3, I really like the idea of spaghetti or thin straps but I am defiantly open to ideas! It will also be very hot at that time of the year! Thank you smile x

(I have posted this is Style & Beauty too before I realised there was a wedding section)

Will the peppermint one drown you, as you are so petite? How do you get on with very deep v necks like that?

I prefer the galvin one.

I'm marrying on a beach next month but I've still done for a nice traditional wedding dress. It's not too heavy but personally I don't think either of those dresses look special, especially for the price.

Have you gone into any wedding dress shops to try some on?

onanothertrain · 21/01/2020 16:32

I prefer the second but it looks like a nightie and is in my opinion very plain. What about something like this or is it too fussy? www.wed2b.co.uk/sawyer

Whatever dress I end up getting I will defiantly get it tailored to fit me perfectly, I think it makes a huge difference!

The peppermint does come in Petite sizes but only in the Champagne which I would prefer I think, Just need to make sure it looks the same colour in real life as sometimes it can show up differently online. I am happy with 'a Deep V' to be honest, I don't have a huge bust so it certainly doesn't show too much in that area!

I really didn't want anything with lace or with a train! I think that is the main reason why I haven't gone to a Bridal shop yet as I think most of their dresses will have trains! I think I need to go into a few different stores, including bridal, and try some different styles on!

Have you looked at Ghosts range? Might be up your street also..

You could try monsoon or oasis have just launched a bridal collection.

I really like the first one you posted. I think it's lovely, and elegant without being over fussy. If it's available in petite sizing then that suggests that it shouldn't swamp you either. Good luck with your dress hunt and your beach wedding - it sounds wonderful.

Thank you for your replies!

There is one in Ghost I like, I will defiantly add that to my list to try on!

WOW those Net-a-porter ones are beautiful, I think I will have to order quite a few from there so I can try them all on! Thank you :)
