Dress drama

I have just got engaged and we’re now wedding planning. However, have booked the venue for Feb 2021, a little earlier than planned and will be away/too busy with work due to a massive project from March-July.

I’ve been advised to get my dress sorted now to avoid a rush order but I’ve only found one thing I like the look of so far- I have completely fallen in love with Allen Lynette by Sottero and Midgely, which at £2.5k is too much money!

So if any can help with any ideas of designers/stores to go to that would satisfy my very difficult list of requirements....

  1. Must have a high neckline and proper back. I am a 28J and not wearing a bra is painful. I know they have cups in, but I find a bikini difficult to wear for an hour or two.
  2. Must come in blush pink/similar.
  3. Not a big fan of lace as I think it makes my boobs look a bit frumpy so think I’m going for a modern/classic look.
  4. Really love beading as it’s going to be a winter wedding.
  5. Rest of me is pretty small, size 8, 25 inch waist.
  6. Not a fan of the super fitted/sheath styles, would prefer a big skirt but open to A line, ball gown, flowing etc!

I have looked at 3000ish dresses so far online and nothing is hitting the spot like the Sottero and Midgely yet. If anyone knows anyone selling a blush one of those....

Have you been in touch with any dressmakers? Sometimes that's the only way to get what you want.
Have you actually tried any dresses on? If not, book several appointments and get trying on everything. What you have in your head might not suit you.
It's worth visiting shops anyway, as often dresses can be altered or made in different colourways.

OMG not much help I know but I've just googled the dress and now I want to get remarried so I can wear it Grin

@Katieweasel that was a great reply! It is the ultimate princess dress in my head!

I’m having a hard time imagining what I will wear to be honest. I absolutely must be able to wear a bra. I’ve been shopping with friends and saw some of the attitudes of the women in the shop when they said they wanted to wear bras. It really put me off going traipsing round shops to be honest.

I also have ASD and really don’t like those kind of scenarios!

We know a lovely dress maker and I think she could make something lovely but she can’t do anything with beading, which I would really like. That is my reserve option though!
