Which dress?

Hi!

Recently began the search for a wedding dress and I’ve got plenty of time as wedding is next summer I just hate being rushed. What do you think of both of these dresses? They’re both so different but I love both. The samples were a bit tight so please ignore back fat etc and imagine they fit perfectly 😂 for context, I’ll be 30 and it’s (hopefully) an outdoor wedding. Dress one

I love dress 1 but when I flicked through to dress 2 it was clearly made for you! The shape is perfect for you xxx

Dresshelpplease · 16/01/2020 10:24

Thanks all for the feedback! I think you are all right with number two being most flattering if it were the right fit but it does need length taken off. I loved the first one but my mam and my sister raised concerns about it being possibly ageing. Back to the drawing board I think. I would like to try some proper classic tea lengths but having trouble finding ones that aren’t poofy. I’m in Northern Ireland but in the republic ALOT if anyone knows of any good shops. Could possibly make a weekend to a sister in London as well and extend the search there. 😂

Definitely number 2. It flatters your figure perfectly.

HGLFree · 16/01/2020 10:25

Dress 2! They both look great, but number 2 looks more expensive and classier. Number 1 is a very common style not always synonymous with wedding dresses.

mullyluo · 16/01/2020 10:27

Definitely 2. Hope you have a fab wedding day.

Lobsterquadrille2 · 16/01/2020 10:27

I think dress 2 is lovely, much more flattering than dress 1.

TheFaerieQueene · 16/01/2020 10:28

2

Mumtown · 16/01/2020 10:30

First one is a more forgiving shape. It looks a bit odd because it’s not fitted but will look lovely once fitted but the sleeves are a bit off somehow - is that just because it’s not fitted yet or will they stay the same?

tisonlymeagain · 16/01/2020 10:30

No 2

teachandsleep · 16/01/2020 10:34

2

smemorata · 16/01/2020 10:34

2! I think the lace is a bit frumpy on 1(although I usually like lace).

CoffeeBeansGalore · 16/01/2020 10:39

Hi, I'm sure you've been looking through lots of styles & pictures. Have a look at www.jjshouse.co.uk. They have a vast range of styles & reasonable prices. Congratulations!

bravotango · 16/01/2020 10:40

Number 2 seems to fit you a lot better and looks great, but I prefer the train of number 1

FloraGreysteel · 16/01/2020 10:46

2: no. 1 looks too old and a bit blousy.

SciFiScream · 16/01/2020 11:38

Dress number 2. It's gorgeous and looks fabulous on you.

Sushiroller · 16/01/2020 11:40

1 is frumpsy. You deserve more...
2 is better but I don't think it's "the one"

I'd continue the search

Ihaveamind · 16/01/2020 11:48

2 is lovely and I think your right about the length. Try FairyGothMother in London.

user1471449295 · 17/01/2020 19:26

Dress 2. Dress one looks like it’s for an older bride to me

Lefkosia · 17/01/2020 21:22

I dont think either of them are particularly flattering if I'm completely honest, I would keep looking

Dresshelpplease · 18/01/2020 20:10

That’s actually extremely helpful Hooley I’m thinking about getting a shorter ballerina made in the brocade pattern with either a v neck or Bardot top. Wedding dress shopping is actually oddly fun, I think my problem is that I don’t really like wedding dresses 😂

Shopkinsdoll · 18/01/2020 20:11

2 definitely

4amWitchingHour · 18/01/2020 20:13

I went for ballerina length and took one layer of netting out to make it less poofy - it was super easy to do :)

Dresshelpplease · 18/01/2020 20:23

My other option, aside from the tea length/ballerina with a different neckline (I would change the back too I prefer buttons) is to have a dress made in a floral fabric. I’m obsessed with floral fabrics but the thoughts of matching groomsmen and bridesmaids and stuff is giving me a massive fucking headache 😂 I have three bridesmaids and one brides man because himself absolutely has to have four groomsmen (or so he says). For context, Its a big Irish wedding we tend to lose the run of ourselves 😭

Try here for tea length dresses.

They have a stockist in Belfast if that helps?

strawberry2017 · 18/01/2020 20:35

Love number 1, the detailing is beautiful
Saying that though I think you could pull off either they both look lovely on you x
