Period on wedding day

orchid1234 · 12/09/2019 10:31

My period is due the day before I get married in less than 2 months, I started taking cerazette in hopes that it would get rid of my period/lighten it but of course I'm having a normal period. Help help help! What can I do?? My periods are usually quite heavy and painful. The pain I can deal by drugging up but the bleeding in my big princess dress?😫 what can I do???

Can you get the pill prescribed and not have a break?

Ask your GP for Norethisterone. I use it for endometriosis flooding and long periods. It stops your period basically.

Ask your GP for Norethisterone. I've taken it a few times with no problem.

I told my doctor I wanted something to stop or lighten my period and that's what she prescribed 🙄 I'll definitely ask for something different!

I vaguely remember reading an article saying you can get something in Superdrug now without prescription.

Norethisterone - it's marvelous

orchid1234 · 12/09/2019 11:18

Yeah I think they do, do it in superdrug now, yay!!

Norethisterone I've always got a stock kept in my medicine box! You never know when you or someone you know might need it!

Just check with your GP if Norethisterone is safe for you to take first. Although it is a progesterone It carries a higher risk of causing clots than the mini pill (Cerazette), which may be why it wasn’t prescribed. It can work well by delaying your period, but bear in mind that you need to take it 3 times daily until you want to have your period, and when the period does come, it’ll likely be worse than usual. If you are low risk, I’d ask for the combined OCP instead tbh, and take 2 strips without a gap, which will also delay your period but in a more pleasant way.
