Outfit for my secret wedding

We've booked our wedding for November. It will be at the Registry Office and just be us and parents and our 2yo. We aren't going to tell anyone, including our parents before hand. They will just think we're going somewhere nice for lunch.

What should I wear? Considering this..

I am fairly tall, blonde bob and fair skin.

What do you think? I'll also get a small bouquet I think.

Love it, but you might want something on your shoulders just in case it's cold.

Congratulations 🎉

HappyHammy · 04/09/2019 21:50

congratulations on your forthcoming wedding, sorry but I think the outfit is a bit plain and I think you will get pretty chilly and will need something to cover your shoulders.

simplekindoflife · 04/09/2019 21:51

It's nice but I'd be tempted to go for something with sleeves in November.

QuaterMiss · 04/09/2019 21:52

How exciting!

(And my favourite type of thread.)

But don’t you feel the cold?

limitedscreentime · 04/09/2019 21:53

Its fab! Congratulations!! I'm not sure why everyone thinks register offices aren't heated - and assume you'd normally wear a coat outside in November so I'd say go for it (and maybe treat myself to a really nice coat if there were any opportunities for outdoor pics).

Wilmalovescake · 04/09/2019 21:54

It sounds brilliant but honestly that looks a bit like a nightie. In November.

TheHodgeoftheHedge · 04/09/2019 21:54

It’s gorgeous but you’ll be freezing in November!

newmummalion · 04/09/2019 21:56

Thanks!!

The cold is my only issue! I'm not worried about being cold inside but might look for a jacket for before and after and travelling to the restaurant.

I did wonder if the skirt was a bit plain. But I definitely don't want it to be too wedding dress like. And I thought I could get away with wearing the skirt and top again, separately.

Nah. And id tell my parents before. Even a couple of days

newmummalion · 04/09/2019 22:00

This is quite nice and perhaps and bit more seasonal?

@DocusDiplo We've decided not to tell them before as we don't want anyone else to know and don't want any suggestions that we should be doing things differently.

Yep, prefer the second one. Much better for November too.

HappyHammy · 04/09/2019 22:03

what about floaty trousers, is the top satin?

simplekindoflife · 04/09/2019 22:03

What about something like this?

@simplekindoflife That's lovely! Tall is a bonus too, I'll track it down. Thank you Smile

newmummalion we're doing exactly the same thing in April with just our two dd's (who will have no idea until the morning of the day).
Congrats to you Thanks.

@simplekindoflife The Amelia Rose dresses are gorgeous. I'm in love with this one now!

@EgremontRusset What a great idea! Thank you!

Congratulations OP! How exciting! Love all the outfits.

Agree with pp who suggested giving your parents a day or two notice. They may be too shell shocked to enjoy it properly on the day, dressed in rags Grin, and be left with that feeling afterwards.

newmummalion · 04/09/2019 22:24

@throwinshapes Congrats to you too! It's exciting isn't it?! The thought of a big wedding fills me with dread!
