Wedding location (possibly Kent)

Hi all I have falling in love with Kent in recent years and although Irish and both of us living in Ireland we feel we would like to marry in Kent ! A quick google obviously brings up a lot of options - ideally we like the idea of a barn, marquee etc type wedding. Most weddings where we live are in hotels, with seat covers etc. Which isn’t are thing. We would have around 120 guests and ideally would like a place that some people could stay. Possibly a place that allows full rental of the venue for the Saturday and Sunday (but not essential). We can pay up to £60pp,however obvs a cheaper option would be ideals. We did think a nice county pub with an outdoor area would be nice and different too however again would like full use of the venue. Anyone have any personal experience/ideas? All help or suggestions would be appreciated as we aren’t from the area!

Thank you,It looks gorgeous! I just emailed them but feel they may be out of our budget from what I could make out it’s over £100 per head!

We got married at the knowle country house in higham Kent, it's a beautiful old house with gorgeous gardens, and on the plus side you have the entire venue to yourself as they only have one wedding per day, prices vary depending on the time of year you want to get married but I think the most expensive is about £11,000 at the height of summer

Thanks I’ll look into that now too !

Lympne Castle is gorgeous, down in SE Kent near Hythe. Stunning views and a beautiful location.

We had our wedding party at East Quay in Whitstable, it was so great. Lovely team of people there and they were incredibly flexible for what we wanted (very laid back feeling). I can’t recommend them enough. www.eqvenue.com/

Is the £60 pp for everything? These castles are £1000s just for the venue hire.

Is there really not a nice country pub in Ireland somewhere? It's going to cost a lot to organised something that is not close to home. You have no contacts in the area, i.e someone who can lend you a car for the day, or getting your Mum and Aunty to do the flowers. You will have to buy it all in as people will by flying in and can't bring a box a jam jars for the table decorations etc.

Even somewhere is Wales would be easier, then you can ferry across and Wales is a lot cheaper than Kent. Kent, while cheaper than London is still in the south east so expensive.
