Trading in engagement ring for mega wedding band

Is this ever a done thing? Has anyone done it?

I want to trade in my engagement ring but no idea where to start !

I’m pretty sure it’s not a ‘done thing’. What would your fiancee say? Did he buy/pick it? Could you re use the stones from it?

Do you mean essentially sell it to the jewellers as part payment in a fancy wedding band?

How much was your engagement ring? Remember it'll lose a fair wack of value just for not being nee

Ps the resale on rungs is pretty low in comparison to the original retail price

But why?
My husband gave me my engagement ring when he asked me to marry him. He chose it. It's special. Why would anyone want to trade that in?
