Personalised vows?

If you write your own vows does the registrar read them and you repeat? Are you expected to remember them? Have a copy?

You'll have to choose a set of legal wording vows that you will repeat after the registrar. Then if you choose to do personal vows too you can have these on a piece of paper/card/your phone and the registrar will hand them to you at the right time - they won't read them out.
