Do you put the names of the guests invited on the invitation or just on the envelopes?

Most of the invitation invites don’t include the names on the invites but thinking it may be tricky to name several family members on the invite especially if posting.

Also say we are inviting a full family who live at the same address. Mum, dad, adult son, partner adult daughter and partner. How many invites would we send?

When we did ours, we named everyone on the invite itself to make it clear who was invited, or 'Joe plus guest' if we didn't know who they were bringing. Then on the envelope 'mr and mrs blogs and family'. Adults living in the same house got their own invite, but posted in the same envelope in some cases.

Address it to whoever you are happy to open the mail. Generally the name of both of a couple whose household it is.
If others live at the same address but pay rent/ lodgings differently ie a gran staying for free, then a sperate invite.
Living together but not independently ie older kids, ex, gran then invite on the same invite because they are one household.

On the invite mention everyone invited specifically, %So address it to Mar and Mrs Smith but on the invite put grand mane and three nieces .. You need to mention bring children, babies. Or actually state no children or babies.

I had our invitations made with a space for guest names. I wanted to make it clear who was invited (some groups are my actual friend only and not their partner and kids)

The traditional way is to address the envelope to the lady of the household and write the names of those invited at the top of the invitation.
