Wedding dress heat!

Wedding dresses seem to be so heavy and warm! I recently put a post up about how I now hate my dress that I had bought at a sample sale. Anyway this heat has got me thinking how do you cope on a hot day in such a heavy dress??!! Surely you're too warm and miserable! How did you beat the heat?

I had a big tulle number in the high 20’s. What I didn’t have was a stuffy venue in the the middle of the day.

Late wedding, cool venue by the sea and in October.

If you want a a hot indoor hotel wedding pick a simple dress with an amazing hairstyle and knock out venue dressing.

For February in Perth in the late ‘60’s, dm had her dress made in swiss cotton broderie anglais (straight skirt to the ground) and about 10ft of plain veil. It sounds odd but is just gorgeous. And really cool for a hot day.

I’m worrying about this slightly as my dress I think may crackle if I walk too quickly in it so isn’t going to be particularly breathable! I think if you have something A line you can have the poofiness (technical term) taken out and a hoop put into the bottom of the skirt?

Fans, lots of fans, everywhere. In your room, in the ceremony room, literally everywhere. Better still, choose an air conditioned venue. Or have a twilight ceremony. Or marry in spring or autumn.
Everybody thinks a hot sunny day is perfect for.a wedding. It isn't, it is a nightmare for the couple, sweat soaked guests and caterers.
