Questions for brides who wear glasses...

Will you be wearing your glasses on your wedding day? I'm a glasses wearer in everyday life. I've never worn contacts so I really can't imagine wearing them on my big day (won't be able to see what's happening if I don't have eye wear on Confused) but I'm wondering whether or not to wear a tiara or just some sort of hair accessory. Partly I feel a tiara will be too much with glasses on but at the same time I feel I might be missing out by not wearing one (if that makes any sense at all?) Just wondered what others have done to get some hair ideas really. You never see bridal magazines with brides wearing glasses so it's hard to picture it.

Wear your glassss, ditch the tiara. There's so many beautiful things to wear in your hair. I don't think tiaras look very nice. Keep your glasses though they're a part of you x

I wore my glasses, as I'm not comfortable without and would have been miserable squinting or rubbing my eyes.

Treat yourself to a new pair. I wore mine but took them off for some photos

I got married years ago when wedding trends were less of a thing but wore my glasses. I wanted to look like ‘me’ on my wedding day. Same reason as I didn’t go for a spray tan or professional make up. I barely wore make up at the time so just wore a ‘no make up, make up’ version of my normal look so it would look nice in the photos (that we never look at).

I never understand why brides totally change their style for weddings, eg red lipstick, cat eye women all of a sudden switch to nude make up for their weddings. It’s odd and depersonalising.

I agree with nothingtowear. I've never worn contacts either and I wore my glasses. I wanted to look like 'me' in the photos. It would've felt odd not to.

Wear your glasses, ditch the tiara

What PP said. Also, if you can afford it, get a pair that you absolutely love and are a bit more special (if your current ones aren't brand new that is!).

You'll look fab either way I'm sure!

Have a look at this website especially for bespectacled brides! I wore mine and I looked brilliant 😁

New glasses that sparkle a bit
Like a tiara Smile

I wore my glasses and a small tiara that was a present

RavenLG · 30/06/2019 14:18

I’d imagine if you wear your glasses all the time then you’d look back at photos without glasses and think they look odd. I used to wear contacts a lot but they irritate my eyes too much especially in summer (hay fever) so I’ll be wearing my glasses next year. As a PP said, probably treat myself to a nice new pair.

Beepbopadee · 30/06/2019 19:25

Aw thanks everyone. I can't ever imagine not wearing them as they are a part of who you are when you wear them all the time. Without them you just don't really look like you in pictures & I definitely want to look back & pics that I love. I think a tiara will be too much so I shall look into alternatives for my hair. I’m planning to wear mine. If you search ‘brides with glasses’ on pinterest there’s some great inspiration for what to do with your hair etc.

I normally wear chunky black frames but I've bought a pair of chunky clear frames for my wedding in August. More for a change really.

zenlife · 01/07/2019 18:53

I'm not gonna wear mine but to be honest my vision isn't toooo bad so I will get away with it. I generally don't like how I look in glasses so would rather not wear them , I also don't get on with contact lenses so that isn't an option for me xx

RedSheep73 · 01/07/2019 18:56

I didn't wear mine, but then my eyesight isn't so very bad and I often don't wear them indoors anyway. But do whatever makes you happy! I'm with you that brides should look like themselves on their wedding day, not strangers

Beepbopadee · 01/07/2019 21:06

Ooh can't believe I didn't search pinterest for brides with glasses!! Some lovely pics to sit & obsess over for days on end Grin I tried some lighter framed glasses on recently as I needed a new pair but they just didn't suit me. There's so many alternatives to tiaras tho I feel a bit at a loss on how to decide. I guess just keep searching pics until I find something I like. Still got 9 months to decide so no need to panic just yet Blush
