We are scheduled to get married next April. Invitations are out, registry office booked and reception. My H2B now has to go and work in Dubai for the next six months! His company are willing to pay for me to visit and for him to come home once a month... on the basis that we are married. Even though it’s not hugely stuck to, they are concerned it’s illegal for us to share a room unless we’re married. We already aren’t having a religious service and are getting married in a registry office. If we do a quick legal wedding with just the two of us secretly beforehand, can we still use the registry office next year to hold a vow renewal? I’m worried people will be less likely to commit to coming next year if they know beforehand that we’ve already gotten married!
