Wedding plans

Hey!

So I need some help.

I had a huge wedding planed and recently me and my partner have been put under a lot of stress from all of the planning and the amount it costs.

We have come to the conclusion that the huge wedding was to only please the people attending and we would be much happier going to a regestry office and then going straight onto our honeymoon.

Am I selfish for going this? Or should there also be a reception?

I suggest a meal, late morning registry office, meal in a restaurant then off to the airport (or airport hotel if flights are the next day).

I was thinking that but it's money after money?

You are not selfish but depending on circumstances it may be wise to have as small gathering....could you do at home with caterers?

It's your day but registry office weddings are quite short from memory so you may feel that it's all over a bit quickly. Could you just invite parents and siblings and then go for a meal? Failing that, as someone suggested, an informal buffet at home afterwards?

OP if the wedding plans are causing you both stress and too much money, cancel them. Go for the registry office with a few family and friends and a good meal somewhere. Off on your honeymoon ASAP.

If you want to celebrate with more family and friends, have a later shindig. Anything with the word Wxxxxxg in it usually carries a premium anyway.
