How many hoops?!

Hello,

I'm getting married in August and I'm a shite bride. Totally leaving everything to the last minute and having a wee panic.

Anwyaaaaay, everything is pretty much sorted apart from me and my dress. I only JUST managed to get a fitting for my dress to get it taken up as its been made for an 8ft long legged lady. I bought it off eBay for £50 and it's fab. It's like it was made for me. I even went and tried dresses on at a shop (many of them 10 times the price) and I just wasn't interested as I knew my dress was waiting for me at home.

I need to buy an underskirt for it but there are so many options. Our wedding is on a farm, it's classy but also chilled with a festival undertone. I do think my dress doesn't fit that "theme" but I'm not bothered. To fill out the dress, and for it to not be too puffy, how many hoops should my underskirt be? The one i tried on with other dresses in the shop only had one but I've seen online they do up to SIX!?

I've attached a picture (in which I look facially look lovely) advice? Opinions?

Help me, thank you Gin

What a gorgeous dress!!! For mine I just had one underskirt with one hoop. Anymore turned it into a ballgown style whixh was not how dress was meant to be made but I didn't like the flat A-line style of it. Was perfect for me. Maybe take it into a shop and try on various amounts to see what you love. :)

That's beautiful. Can you post the seller of the dress on eBay? Do they do different styles?

I got one with 4 hoops from amazon for an aline princess dress - it's heavy. But you build them yourself, as the come flat packed and you can leave out hoops if you wish. So you could start with a 6 and make it a 1 tier if you wish.

HappyHarmonica it was just a girl selling it one off as she'd bought a few different styles and chose another one. But eBay is great - I've bought a few and just resold and even made a profit!

And thank you for your advice and comments everyone. I'll probably try the build your own! Great idea.

Looks great, I'll have a look on there once I know what style I like Smile

I have no idea about underskirts but I just wanted to say that your dress is beautiful!

I would get one hoop at the bottom but make sure its adjustable so you can make it wider or narrower to suit the shape of the skirt
