Anyone ever eloped in Devon?

Devon is a special place to us and we’d love to get married there.
Anyone got any recommendations for a no frills wedding?

We at MNHQ are dying to know why you are eloping. Are you on the run from the law?

😂 nothing as interesting as that I’m afraid!

We’ve been together 14 years, got a few sprogs together... can’t be arsed with a big shindig so we thought we’d be antisocial and elope!

Hmmm you still need to register in Devon, it's got the same laws as the rest of the country. So eloping isn't truly an option. However there are some beautiful venues down here.

What about this for an intimate / just the two of you wedding? I looked at it myself but hubby wanted a „proper“ wedding in the end.

I went to a gorgeous wedding at Tunnels Beach in Ilfracombe. Pretty sure it was pricey tho... Good luck!

I know someone who got married in Cornwall while on holiday there. She booked the register office, found a florist, photographer and hairdresser by googling, and then booked a meal in a local pub that she already knew.

Close family attended, as they booked separate accommodation at the same time, but you wouldn't need to do that if you didn't want to (or bother with photography, flowers, hair etc if you wanted it very low key).

Registry offices are cheaper in Devon than Cornwall. Really depends what you want?
