Completely lost on reception timings

Hoping someone can help me out!

We’re getting married at 1pm in a church about 10-15mins drive from our reception. Putting a coach on for most guests (others will be driving), which means we’re estimating they’d be getting there at around 2-2.30pm?

We don’t have any entertainment booked for the reception until the band start at 6pm. Our food is being served at 3.30pm, speeches between 4.30-5pm, then cake and tables cleared before evening guests arrive.

Do you think people will get bored before food? We will have music playing but didn’t really want to pay out another £500+ to have a band playing.

We’re doing the whole reception DIY and I’m terrified of missing something and making it a shit experience for our guests!

I think there was about an hour between the ceremony and the reception for my cousins wedding last year, there was a bar for the guests and the hotel was set in some gorgeous grounds so while the bride and groom went off for photos between ceremony and reception the guests milled around chatting and catching up.
That time will go past quite quickly and most of the guests will be talking about how lovely the ceremony was and how beautiful you look!

An hour with drinks and chat is totally fine imo.

I'd put wee snack bites out. I'm always starving between the ceremony and the meals at weddings for some strange reason

We had a magician wandering around doing wee tricks with the guests while we had photos taking: drinks and general mingling will be fine though. Snacks would be good but not essential

As a guest, you do generally expect to be hanging around for an hour while the photos are taken. I would just be grateful you are limiting this to an hour and not the ridiculous length of time some B&Gs leave you hanging.
As long as there is a drink or access to a bar or cup of tea .
