It's my first time being a bridesmaid and I was just wondering how much money I should give as a gift?

Or gifts ideas?

I don't think I gave my sister a wedding gift, when I was bridesmaid Grin or if I did, I don't remember.

I think the answer to this is going to depend on lots of things, not least if it is going to cost you masses to be a bridesmaid.

From some of the wedding threads I read on here, the 'expectations' of some brides are way, way different from when I was a bridesmaid, or, indeed, a bride.

It will also depend on your financial situation of course.

As a bridesmaid, I'd be more inclined to give a keepsake, thoughtful type gift rather than money.

Is being bridesmaid not gift enough ?
It's traditional for the happy couple to get you a 'thank you ' gift.
If you really want to then something modest , a keepsake type present would be well received.

Totally depends! I think whatever you want to, and can, give. My best friend who was bm didn't get us anything - I think possibly she has something that she keeps forgetting to give us Grin but being bm is definitely gift enough.

In terms of what we got given - we got all sorts, my sister did us a lovely cross stitch sampler which I love, another friend got us a voucher for our favourite restaurant. Honestly, anything - or nothing- is fine. You're already doing plenty.

Something personal rather than of monetary value.
