What is your opinion on a tribute act at a wedding. Looks and sounds like the real deal.

He plays 2 x 45 minute sets with a break. We would get a dj for afterwards.

Alternative is a band for the full night playing a variety of music.

It depends who the tribute is! Grin

It depends on who they are tributing and how good they are. I work at a venue that does weddings and concerts and has a variety of tributes and ordinary bands. Some (of each) are very good, some very poor and some middle of the road.

I tend to think that a poor tribute can come off like a characteur and cheesey, but a poor band can often get away with it.

One bloke for an hour and a half? I wouldn't even want the real Gary Barlow for that.

We had elvis... (got married in vegas, had UK reception for family after honeymoon). He was booked for an hour but stayed longer, it was great!
