I am getting married tomorrow and we're having a small ceremony at the registry office (10 guests) at midday, and then lunch at just a local high street restaurant, nothing fancy, at 1pm.
Since we're having such a basic ceremony (it really is bare bones, just the minimum and mainly for our parents to be honest - neither of us have ever been fussed about the actual wedding) I was a bit worried about the gap between the ceremony ending and lunch starting, but didn't want to book lunch for half 12 as thought that might be cutting it a bit fine if the ceremony was late or something. The restaurant is about a 5 min walk from the registry office. But my fiancé called the restaurant to confirm everything yesterday and they've got our booking down as 1:30pm - not sure whether he made a mistake when booking, or they made a mistake writing it down, doesn't matter which, they can't change it.
What am I going to do with 12 people for potentially over an hour on a gloomy, cold afternoon?? Its our parents, plus 6 friends, and while I'm not fussed about the wedding, I want everyone to have a nice time and really don't want any awkward standing around. Do we just take everyone to the pub?
Or will the ceremony (plus signing register, taking some pics etc.) take longer than I think and actually it will be fine?)
