Looking for some inspiration please!
Getting married in the summer. Have a three course meal for day guests and evening food (bacon butties, mini burgers etc) served at around 9pm.
However our evening guests are arriving from 6.30 pm and I think they need something to line the stomach. We have a cheese wedding cake that will be served at around 7/8pm but is that too long for them to wait?
Our venue is quite strict about what food we can provide ourselves (as they want to provide/charge for their own food which is fair enough) but if there is a favour/decorative element to it we can probably get away with it - e.g hence us getting the cheese in as our wedding cake (which is allowed) rather than a cheese board (which we would have to buy from them at a cost per head).
I was thinking something like a doughnut wall could be a good idea, guests could help themselves on arrival and we can probably convince the venue this is a favour/decoration. But the trouble is I think doughnut walls have been done to death and I don't want to look like a Pinterest bride! Also is it weird to start with sweet stuff and end on savory?
Any better ideas? Thanks in advance!
