Wearing wedding ring without engagement ring.

So my engagement ring is this one. I absolutely love it and it means a lot to me(Whitby jet). But I can not find a band I like. I’m thinking of getting a ring that would be classed as an engagement/eternity ring and using that as a wedding ring on its own?

Does anyone wear a wedding ring without an engagement ring?

My mum does - well it's not even her weddding ring because that doesn't fit, it's a plain band. She lost her engagement ring. I know at least 3 women who just have wedding bands.

Me - I've not worn my engagement ring since we got married (over 40 years ago...)

I haven't worn my engagement or eternity ring for years, I only have little fingers and didn't think they looked right together but as I've got older I've started to wear less jewellery anyway

In the winter when my eczema is worse, I only wear a wedding band as it really reduces the moisture getting trapped underneath and cracking the skin. Wear what you like and what feels comfortable!

I’ve been married 25 years and never worn a wedding or engagement ring as I don’t like either. It’s never been an issue, why would it?

I’ve got a plain silver band which DH bought when I was upset about pregnancy weight gain.

I have a gold band from a great aunt I usually wear. My actual engagement ring and wedding ring only come out when I’m dressed up.

Me. After getting married I've only worn my engagement ring for best. I'm sure 20 years ago it was less of a 'thing' to keep wearing the engagement ring all the time.

I took it off when we got home from the wedding and haven't really bothered about it since.

I find it gets in the way a lot, unlike my wedding ring which I keep on at all times.

Stupid autocorrect

I often only wear my wedding band. The bevel setting on my engagement ring is damaged and worn and it's a major job to repair it, so now I only the ring when I go out.

I dislike how often my engagement ring “catches” so I think I will only wear the wedding band once we are married. It wasn’t a pricey engagement ring though as we spent our savings on a bigger house instead

My engagement ring had an odd shaped setting so I couldn’t wear my wedding band next to it so I now wear it on my other hand instead.

I cant see your engagement ring, but if you love it, maybe talk to a jeweller, and see if a wedding ring can be made to sit around it. Its possible with some rings, I dont know about all.
