I hope im posting this in the right place im new to mumsnet 😂 looking for some advice on getting married abroad. After nearly 8 years of engagement we have decided on getting married in 2021. Looking for some advice on 1) are we looking at booking too far in advance 2) can anyone recommemd any nice family friendly locations in europe (ive seen a couple i like in malta but after researching hotels not sure if its very family friendly also seeing alot of negative comments about car fumes 🤔) 3) can anyone recommend any wedding planners theyve gone through?
We dont want a big wedding why we've decided to go abroad, just something nive and intimate in a family friendly location.
Thankyou in advance 😁

Hi, i've previously looked at getting married in Zakynthos. Based on the fact that we were staying at the Hotel Marelen which was completely family friendly. They book up on key dates the second they go on sale as they have a chapel on site... accomodation ranges from studio apartments to 2 bed apartments sleeping 6. It's affordable rather than 5* luxury....but has been done up a lot since we were there. 5 minutes to the beach. Splash park for younger guests on site. Roof top restaurant. - that led me to look into other options on the island. There are some stunning venues....cliff top, island, beach etc Lots of wedding planning companies to help. Good luck... it's never too early. Some people book a holiday the year before in their destination to go out and sort things out.

We got married in Cyprus using exclusive yacht weddings, they are brilliant and have loads of different packages and venues you can use.

We booked our hotels separately so you can easily pick whichever hotel you fancy if you need kids club etc.

It was s lot cheaper for us to use exclusive yacht weddings then it would have been to book a wedding package through someone like Thomas cook or tui.
