Resizing engagement ring

I had my ring sized at a G last year (I have tiny fingers!) My ring is a little loose and I prefer a tighter fit and after getting my finger sized up again it turns out I’m more of an F1/2. How long would it take to have my ring downsized by 1/2 a size? It’s a solitaire band so I’m guessing it should be fairly straightforward? Also am I best going to my local jewellers or a high street store?

Can you take it back to where it was bought from for re-sizing? The time it will take depends on the jeweller you take it to - if they have a jeweller in house it could be done in a day or two, otherwise it could take a week or two if they send it to manufacturer for sizing.

When we bought our rings they offered a free resize, I think it took about a week.
