So I bought my dress off the rack as it was a sample sale so I saved hundereds and it's absolutely gorgeous 😍😍😍 BUT it's strapless and I want some sort of sleeve 😭 is there anyway I could add sleeves? Wedding isn't until 2020 and the dress was an impulse buy as I didn't want to lose to opportunity as it really is amazing and I know it's my dress but the more I think about it I just can't pull off strapless 😞😞

Wear a bolero of some kind?

Ikeameatballs · 22/12/2018 20:28

It’s a beautiful dress but I don’t see how you could add sleeves.

You could get a gorgeous bolero eg www.bridalknot.co.uk/lace-boleros-wedding-jackets-133-c.asp to wear with it?

Why don’t you think you can wear strapless?

Wigeon · 22/12/2018 20:28

Long sleeved one

It's very pretty Smile What time of year is the wedding?

You can customise in all kinds of ways depending on season and weather.

peachypetite · 22/12/2018 20:30

Talk to a wedding seamstress

MissMoodyMoo · 22/12/2018 20:34

I loved it when I tried it on as it was gorgeous! But I'm pregnant now and over the last few weeks I've started to get stretch marks on the back of my arms 😭I know they will go silver but I also know when I have a spray tan they will show up like my previous ones 😞

A good seamstress could easily add straps or sleeves to that

umpteennamechanges · 22/12/2018 20:47

Go to a professional seamstress with your photos and she (or he) will be able to give you options in terms of sleeves if there are any

milienhaus · 22/12/2018 20:48

You can buy lace bodies to go under? I saw them in a bridal shop today!

onemouseplace · 22/12/2018 20:53

I had a chiffon sash which I wore over my shoulders and tied at the back so it looked
like sleeves. Let me see if I can find a pic.

onemouseplace · 22/12/2018 21:04

Here we go. Just draped and tied loosely at the back.

Just take it to a seamstress, I had straps added to mine no problem.

MadisonAvenue · 22/12/2018 21:06

That's an excellent link which Ikea posted above and there's a drop down with tulle, chiffon and satin boleros on there too. They might be easier to match up with the dress than having a lacy bolero in a different patterned lace.

It's an absolutely beautiful dress!

Missingstreetlife · 22/12/2018 21:22

You can get sleeves to go under your dress. I think shopping channel qvc? Maybe mark and Spencer. Google it, you will find them

Missingstreetlife · 22/12/2018 21:23

Hope it will still fit!

Thomlin · 22/12/2018 21:39

I had straps added to my strapless dress, cap sleeves. It was no bother and done by a seamstress.

winniestone37 · 22/12/2018 23:29

A seamstress can easily add sleeves ignore anyone on here who says otherwise I promise.

MrsStrowman · 23/12/2018 04:42

You could get a seamstress to add an illusion top with or without sleeves

MrsStrowman · 23/12/2018 04:48

Like this or with more lace or longer sleeves, it would cover any silvery stretch marks but not be as heavy as a full opaque sleeve

lace jacket. There's plenty on eBay. If the wedding's not until 2020 just wait until you find something you really like.

BaileysOnToast · 27/12/2018 17:30

Search for a 'wedding jacket' if you get one the same colour/lace it will look part of the dress.

ASqueakingInTheShrubbery · 27/12/2018 17:33

I had a bolero made of such similar lace to my dress that you could hardly tell it wasn't part of it.
