My bridesmaid is going to have had a baby 4 weeks before the wedding. How do we manage this in terms of dress fittings/size ordering?! Anyone had any experience of similar?

Is she the only bridemaid?
If you have more than one, do you want them to all wear thr same dress? Having bridemaids in different dresses but with a common theme is becoming more popular.
If you were OK with varied dresses, it would give you more flexibility.

Remember that 4 weeks is an estimation, she might have baby much earlier or a bit later. Plus you need to consider breastfeeding or possibly being post-section

Could do with some advice myself here too. My bridesmaid will be 7.5 months pregnant at our wedding and myself 5 months pregnant....when is the latest we should be getting our dresses altered??

I had a bridesmaid with a 6-week-old baby. I let bridesmaids choose their own dresses (with specific colour scheme) and paid for her to have hers altered into a breastfeeding dress. It was fairly stretchy so would have been okay if she'd been a bit bigger or smaller after the birth. Her DH, bless him, had baby (who was good as gold!) at the back during the ceremony.

I had recently had a baby when I was bridesmaid and one of the others was 8 months. We all wore the same dress - a multiway dress. The material was stretchy and can be worn different ways to suit different preferences.

Do you have an indian area near you? If so you can get lovely two-piece bridal / bridal party dresses in a variety of styles that look like once pieces — and the shops will often adjust them for free as many times as required. Plain dresses as worn by most English brides / bridesmaids tend to be fairly cheap too.

Honestly I'd be tempted to risk getting a dress last minute, obviously I don't know what look you are hoping for but really anything goes at 4 weeks post partum.

Is it her first baby? If so - maybe rethink your choice of bridesmaid - just to give her a break just having had a baby. As someone else said - she might only just have had it 2 weeks before.....and might be recovering from a c-section. At 2 weeks after baby 1 having had a section I was lucky to leave the house for a couple of hours. - If however it's baby 2, 3 or more - then she'll know what she's taken on. But she should also be able to advise you on whether or not she lost the baby weight quickly. Mine took 2 years to go after baby 1 and about 6 months after baby 2.
