Jumpsuit potentially same colour as Bridesmaids?!

This is possibly outing Confused

Found out recently that the colour of the bridesmaid dresses for a relatives wedding is cafe au lait, which from a quick google comes in many shades.

I bought the outfit attached for the wedding a few months ago and was happy that I'd sorted it well ahead of time. Have tried the outfit on in front of others who say it's lovely and suitable for a wedding. The wedding is next weekend. My question is, is my outfit cafe au lait? It's described as mink but Im worried I'll look too similar to the bridesmaids! I'll probably be wearing burgundy strappy heels similar to the photo attached with it. Other relatives have told me it'll be fine given it's a jumpsuit not a dress. Any advice?

I think it's fine, my bridesmaids were all in navy (different dresses and different shades) and at least 3 other guests were also in navy and it wasn't an issue at all. Everyone looked great!

It doesn’t matter. Wear your outfit, I’m sure you’ll look great.

it is lovely but you might look as though you were pretending to be wedding party in the similar colour...I think you are going to have to rethink or spend the entire time fending off Hmm looks as if you wanted to be a bridesmaid and didn't get asked.

It's an unusual colour for bridesmaids. I don't think anyone would think you are trying to compete. In among all the guests there's surely going to be some that are wearing the same colour as the bridesmaids, no matter what colour the bride chooses.

It’s fine.

It will be fine. You aren't going to be tagging along with the bridal party following the bride up the aisle, or squeezing in on the bride and bridesmaids photos. I think the accessories will make it stand out.

Thanks everyone! I'm hoping it will be ok and you've all instilled some confidence in me! I am totally the relative who will dodge as many photos as possible so won't be hogging any bridesmaid limelight! Thanks all, it's very appreciated! Wine

OP, if you can, think of some ways to accessorize the oufit which look very un-bridesmaid-y.

But I don't really think it is an issue.

Apart from anything else, it's a jumpsuit, not a dress.

Nobody is going to think you're trying to copy the bridesmaids unless you try and squeeze your way into bridesmaid only photos. Smile

I think if you add different colour accessories you'll be fine. eg if the bridesmaids have a dress that colour and white shawl and pearl necklace, wear your thing with a dark brown jacket and chunky beads etc...

It’s a lovely outfit. If it was a long dress I’d have avoided it as I would any pale colour for a wedding - it’s the colour and style combined that make an outfit look bridal party like. But the jumpsuit is smashing.

Whatever you do, don’t wear a dark brown jacket with it!! It needs no jacket
