Does anyone know (or know where I can find) the wording that the Registrar reads out for ceremony?!x

The standard one varies - you need to ask your own council.

When I got married hey offered a few options, and we're happy to personalise it for us.

If you email Them they should tell you. :)

Our county has a website and you can download the wording from there. There are various options for each section and you can then make the choices for your ceremony through the website.

They give you it once you go and give notice

As Shox says when you book and pay for your ceremony with the Register Office they'll send you some information that lets you tailor the wording to how you want it, including any music and/or special readings. IIRC they want your final choice returned to them about a month before the ceremony.

Our experience was they couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating, and let us keep it very brief and simple.

I hope yours is a lovely, happy occasion.

Agreed. When you give notice they give you all the information, so you can choose what you'd like.

AnnaMagnani · 01/07/2018 12:09

When you give notice they send it to you. You are also welcome to write your own vows although the registrar will approve them - we found we couldn't be bothered and stuck with what was on offer.

You can't have any religious content or anything that is obviously adapted from the church vows. Similarly no religious readings or religious music.

We got round this by having German classical music that the registrar clearly didn't know - twas what we wanted but, yes the lyrics did mention God an awful lot!

It did make the choice of readings pretty limited. If we did it again we would have done a super quick ceremony with no fuss to get the legals done and then an all out non-legal thing where we could do what we wanted as we found the limitations on readings etc v limiting.
