Help me find a Peak District venue!

We would like to get married next year in the Peak District. We live in Lichfield, so about an hour away from there, and thought it would be a beautiful area to get married in as we will have friends and family coming from all over the country, as well as family from abroad.

Our budget for the venue is -£8k and this must include food, ideally would like a venue where we can have our own caterers to keep the costs even lower.

Has anyone got married or been to a wedding somewhere lovely in the Peak District? I can find lots of expensive barn type places but struggling to find much within our price range.

We got married in the youth hostel at hartington. I can’t remember what it cost and think it might stretch your budget but worth having a look. You have to book it for the full weekend. Our guests helped us with the cost of the rooms (which was negligible compared to staying elsewhere), we bought supermarket flowers and supermarket cake, no need for any cars because everything is on site.
I might be biased but it was a brilliant wedding, really relaxed. The manager, William, went a long way to helping with this!
Hope you find something to suit you!

Ps they do the catering, but cost of that wasn’t crazy. They let you source your own wine and from memory we didn’t pay corkage (I think. It’s more than 10 years ago, so hazy!)

Thanks @SunnySomer - will have a look

www.yha.org.uk/hostel/yha-hartington-hall?utm_source=google&utm_medium=maps&utm_campaign=google-places This is their website. We had guests from all over the place and overseas, so it was good to have accommodation included. Plus loads of children present so it was good to have sole occupancy.

Thornbridge Hall? We went to a wedding there last year and thought it was a beautiful setting, especially as the weather was lovely ...

We went to an amazing wedding reception in a village hall with a local caterer - food was the best I've ever had at a large event. Pm me if you'd like the details - I have them but it's a bit outing!!

@Pigletpoglet this sounds exactly what we are looking for- please would you pm me the details? Thank you!

I went to a wedding at Hargate Hall which was beautiful. No idea of the cost, but I know b&g just hired the shell... they had outside caterers, did byo booze and an honesty bar which worked really well. Also it sleeps loads so they could 'sell' the apartments to guests.

The Youth Hostel at Harrington is great, we looked there. No chance of a wedding incl catering for £8k at Thornbridge Hall, no matter how small!
LoseHill Hall do weddings, amazing food but prob too expensive.
A Village Hall is a good idea - Zest is a good local caterer.

White Hart Moorwood moor (nearly in the peak district) do all inclusive weddings.
Riverside house hotel Ashford in the water
Hassop hall near Bakewell

Matlock county hall does them, and the Fishpond in Matlock Bath if you want something more quirky. There is also a field site with tents and stuff on the hill above the town's that do them.

PM'd you - let me know if it doesn't come through!

I'm getting married at Hargate Hall: www.hargate-hall.co.uk/

The venue is charged at a fixed price all year round (except a bump for heating the marquee in winter). What changes is the cost of accommodation for guests, because you hire the whole venue exclusively Fri-Mon, and the costs of any DIY choices you make. They don't allow corkage charges, so you can run a bar pretty cheaply.

We're paying somewhere in the region of £8000 for a free bar, marquee hire, nibbles, meal and buffet, bbq on the Friday night and the hall for the party. Guests pay for accommodation on top.
