Wedding abroard

Hi
Dp and I are planning to get married next year.
We would both like to get married abroard and have a simple service, preferably somewhere picturesque and warm.
We only intend to have our immediate family there and really need to keep the

Costs down.
Does anyone have any advice regarding good companies to use.

We are thinking about Greece possibly in April or if not August although I think the weather would be better in April as not quite so hot.

I m probably going to have a tea length dress and dp is hoping to wear shorts.
We are also not bothered about providing a big meal as we are think of booking a restaurant independently as my two of our teenage dcs are very fussy eaters.

Sorry to hijack. I am looking at something similar but just us two and 4 children 19, 14, 8 and 6. If you have any tips I would appreciate Belinda.

Congratulations by the way.

I would say the first thing you need to decide is if you want to legally get married abroad or if you are happy to have just the ceremony with friends and family..

In my case as we aren't religious we are having a celebrant to conduct a ceremony in front of friends and family. It sounds daft paying for someone who can't legally marry you but we wanted a wonderful day everyone could enjoy. Our registry office is dire and wedding venues locally are extortionate. The quality of wedding day we could afford there vs here, meant the views, food and warm weather win hands down.

If you are only doing a very small wedding then it probably makes sense to be legally married rather than forking out twice.

If you do want a legal ceremony abroad check the places where you can do this and then check the residency- how long you need to be on the county before you can tie the knot there. Italy is 2 dad I believe, can't remember Greece, Cyprus.
