Anyone doubting their dress choice after Meghan?

Those of us who have weddings this year will have dresses in hand.
Any second thoughts now after seeing her understated number?

I couldn't bring myself to wear so anything so plain, although she looked OK in it. I do think it will make mine look a year out of date though ( although I have two cheap ones so not overly worried!).

Ok. It does sound lovely and I'm sure you looked gorgeous! I love the two dresses I referred to above, very simple lines.

always felt sorry for Pippa Middleton - she was never going to find a wedding dress to match that gorgeous bridesmaid dress

Funny—I thought her wedding dress was better than her sister’s and Meghan’s first dress. The Stella McCartney evening dress was gorgeous, though.

Actually, I think most wedding dresses look awful on people because white is a difficult color to pull off. Especially for lighter-skinned people, it can really wash you out. Darker-skinned people wear them better, but not by much.

And they also seem to date so quickly, it’s rare when I see a wedding dress that has stood the test of time.

I wore red for mine, and I wish people could be more creative with their dresses, as white is actually a very recent tradition. It’s also, sadly, taking off in many other parts of the world.

The future will probably see more of these horrid white monstrosities because that’s what we see on television. I know Japanese weddings were very, very influenced by Princess Diana’s white puffy mess (in fairness, they used to wear white kimonos, but still. Not a good look to emulate)

I was married in bright purple! Grin
