Tell me about your Vegas weddings!

Do you regret it? Was it the best decision you ever made? Were more traditional family/friends angry? How much did it cost? How did you go about it?

DP and I are seriously thinking of eloping to Vegas, we've been together 10 years and neither of us find the idea of a traditional wedding appealing! But I'm an anxious control freak and just thinking about all the variables is giving me palpations

My dm got married in Vegas (by Elvis). TBH I thought it was hideously tacky and the complete opposite of what I would want in a wedding ceremony. However my mum seemed to love it and really that's all that matters. Maybe watch some videos on YouTube and see what you think?

I totally would have gone for a Vegas wedding if it wouldn’t cost as much - we have 2 young children and my parents travelling from other side of the world who would have remortgaged their house to be there which didn’t feel right. Otherwise we would totally have gone for it, but proper Vegas style with elvis and little white chapel, drive through etc. Am happy with what we are doing - although it is costing a lot more, around £24k rather than just £4k (or more) to do the Vegas thing.

I do know someone that renewed vows in Vegas for their 10 yr anniversary and that was lovely for them.
