Small wedding help

Engaged 3yrs, finally planning!! Have seen a venue and fell in love after having a walk around. Am now due to go back for a private viewing and to discuss dates.

The venue used to be a restaurant with a real good reputation in the area but is now a wedding only venue with a really good, shabby chic vibe which is totally what we are going for. My parents came and had a look around and they loved it too (which is important to me/ us).

It holds 50 day guests and 150 evening guests. We want family only to day and sit down meal which as long as they can all make it comes to 32 people (that's assuming they would all make an effort to be there as they are all close family), then we have a total of 95 total for the evening (I know not everyone asked will come, even if they say they are going to)

When we last viewed it it was at an open day where we saw it set up for a wedding including table set up. Obviously we have questions to ask at our meeting coming up but one of my concerns is if we don't have enough people. The space is not my concern, it has a small dance floor, bar, and area for the ceremony which then gets switched over to tables for the sit down meal and evening disco which was perfect but the way the tables were set up I know we can tweek to make it perfect for us but can we really go from 8 people round a table to 6 just to spread everyone out and get more tables so it looks more full?! I don't want it to look stupid. I'm already having the fear that nobody will turn up and we haven't even booked it yet :(

Tell them your numbers and ask how they would make it work as i’m Sure they will have done similar wrdfing sizes before . Good luck 😉

If the tables comfortably take eight, then only having six per table might make it seem more empty than if there is a clever was of partitioning the room or filling the empty space and just using the four tables you need. Definitely one to discuss with them.

Don't forget if it was 32 for a birthday lunch that would seem like a big number so don't feel it's small!
