Budget alternatives to a marquee?

A close friend is getting married and wants to have a garden party.

They live rurally have have land, so plenty of space to do this.

But what about rain?! She can't afford a marquee, they are extortionate!!!

She only really needs a shelter in case of rain - does anyone have any ideas? Thanks :)

We had a marquee and yes, they are big bucks!

What about white pop up gazebos? Not very flash but they are cheap and could be decorated.

You can get nicer looking ones that come in various sizes and prices

Alternatively, you could use white canvas patio umbrellas?

Could she hire a non wedding tent. Local scout groups, schools,, private schools that do Am Dram. They all have tents which are available to hire at half the price,
The downside is she would need to find people to put up and take down, which is why big marquees are mega bucks, But if you can get a few locals involved for a bit of cash?
