Anyone bought a wedding dress online?

I'm on a budget and wondered had anyone ever bought a wedding dress online? I'm not thinking Ebay but have seen a company called JJ's House? Is it a stupid idea?

I've heard quite a few bad things about JJ House. What about some of the brands from here, I bought my dress online from Dorothy Perkins Bridal and it was even nicer in person than online. Monsoon dresses are beautiful, there is also House of Fraser and other places. You could buy a dress from them and then take it to a local dressmaker who could tailor it and embellish it to make it perfect for you.

I have ordered one from JJs House! Just waiting for it to be delivered so I'll let you know!

I read a lot of reviews online, then really carefully read their terms and conditions. I noticed that almost all of the people posting negative reviews were actually in the wrong.
eg. "I ordered this custom made and it doesn't fit and they won't let me return it". But the T&Cs clearly state that custom made stuff can't be returned.... etc
So I decided to risk it. And I haven't gone for custom fit in case the fabric is bad and I want to return it. - I'll just get it altered by a seamstress locally.
And I've still got nearly 8 months til the wedding so time to fix it!

Forgot to say a relative had a wedding dress from JJshouse too and it was fine. A bit big but she left it too late to get it altered.

I was going to order from there as they do have photos of real brides in the dresses.
My only issue was choosing a style as its so difficult to get a sense of a dress in 2D. My bridesmaids have been through half of ASOS because the dresses aren't the same on actual bodies. So much easier with easy free returns to buy in the UK.
I bought mine in Quiz which looks much better than I imagined. I have also bought a second from eBay after trying the exact same one in a bridal shop. Literally half the price for a brand new dress.

I hope it turns out well for you and you do have lots of time so that means you can get whatever done you want to it. I only had 5 weeks (We had a semi secret/surprise wedding). I did get some lovely accessories to go with it - check our rainbow club shoes, so many styles and very comfortable and can be dyed any colour. I have a pair from being a bridesmaid and my wedding pair. I also ordered paper map flowers to be incorporated into my bouquet and my local florist was delighted to do it. These wee things don't cost much but do make it very individual to you.

Yes, try Kitty and Dulcie - they are fab! All very reasonable as well. I loved mine and got so many compliments, I’m also on their Instagram page there somewhere Grin.

They are a British company and have a pretty quick turn around. I did need some slight alterations as I lost weight and got a local seamstress to do them

I bought mine for £63 from Chi Chi London - used a 10% discount code they had at the time. Might still have one! Also they do have sales frequently so keep your eyes peeled!

I really recommend them, just found their sizes came up big. But they offer free and easy returns (just like ASOS) so it wasn't an issue to swap sizes.

Bought mine from eBay for £60something. Was in 2011 but I was really pleased with it.

I bought mine for $100 which is around 55 pounds from a second hand website. It fits perfectly but I do recognize that I was very very lucky

I bought mine from Kitty and Dulcie (Pearly Queen) and it was perfect. It's on eBay right now!
